I was at cabelas the other day and was looking at the colt 1911 22lr and sig 1911 22lr. Any feedback on either gun? Looking to replace my sig mosquito as its 3/4 full size. Any feed back is appreciated.

Ruger Mark II or III. I have both and love them.

I've heard both of the two you mentioned are ammo picky and tend to need the expensive .22 ammo.

The two that have been suggested are both great pistols and personally I think they are a much smarter purhcase. They tend to be less ammo picky, and very accurate and reliable.

Another excellent option is the S&W 617 revolver.

Recently picked up the SIG 1911-22. Had it at the range yesterday, ran 200 rnds of CCI Mini-Mags and Remington Golden Bullet...both are plated rounds. No FTF or other failures to speak of.

One knock on the SIG is the guide rod that has a reputation for breaking and the use of plastic parts. Positive side is that 80% of the parts can be replaced with standard 1911 parts.

Have some Chet Whistle upgrade parts on order...he sells a barrel bushing that eliminates the barrel screw and tightens up the barrel to bushing fit.
