Okay, I'm in the midst of building an AR-15 with my dad. The lower is all wrapped up and ready to go, now we're shopping uppers. The upper that he's most interested in is a CMMG, and it has the F marked front sight gas block. My problem is, I know he'll be getting a scope, probably a 4-12x40 or x44, and it will be in a Burris P.E.P.R mount. I'm concerned that the front sight will partially obscure the view in the scope. Anyone have this type of setup that can help us out?

You shouldn't be able to see the FSB at all through the scope. I have a 4X30 on mine with standard rings and a standard FSB. Can't see it at all through the scope.

Nope. it wont be an issue especially with that power of a scope. The Burris PEPR mount puts the scope at an ideal height. You're good to go.

That's kind of what I figured, but I wanted to be sure before we drop 600 bucks on an upper. I know I could swap on the gas block, or file it down to be a low-pro, but I'd rather it just be good to go when we get it.

The front site will be there but set low in the scope and blurred enough not to be an issue.
