I have a Remington 540 XR Target Rifle .22RF target rifle with iron sights.

I will donate it to a deserving young person getting started in the shooting sports in need of one.

If you have a candidate in mind, PM me. >MW

Thats very generous of you. Shame you didn't do it months ago when I was starting my son.

Some lucky kid will have a ball with it.
Good luck and congratulations to whoever receives it!

If nobody has shown any interest. I could take it and donate it to a youngster at my club. I'm sure the president knows of an eagle scout that could make use of it.

No children of your own to teach? Grandkids? Nieces or nephews?

Hey normally if someone was giving away free gun functioning or not I would be first in line trying to get it. But when someone like you are making this noble offer to help a deserving young person get into sport I don't want to knock someone out the may not be as fortunate as I am. I mean I can afford to purchase one. I have three grandsons and I just started with the oldest one this year. I bought a single shot chipmunk to start him with.

Seems like I've got a taker ! I - we - could use all the advice we can get from the forum on shipping, though ! (Its going to a 4-H Club! )

This deal leaves me with a bunch of bricks of Federal SV Target I'd like to contribute as well. Anyone got some suggestions on how to ship it to the recipient as well ? >MW

I don't believe there is much regulation on shipping ammo (don't quote me) but i would check with the rules and regs from the service you choose for shipping .

I think you have to pay a hazmat fee...around $20

No hazmat on ammo just powder and primers. Completed ammo in factory boxes in considered safe.

I have a 10 y/o son and 12 y/o daughter that I think are both around the right age to introduce them to the sport. I myself have been a gun owner for almost 25 years now but I don't own a firearm that I would feel comfortable having them learn with.

Let me know if it the offer is still up.
