I have no problem forming 7.65x53 mm from .30-06 brass, but every time I try to form .222 from .223, I get longitudinal creases in the shoulder. I've tried lube only on the shoulder, only on the case wall, on both, annealing, etc., but always get those creases on the shoulder.

    What am I doing wrong?

So, not much interest...I found a way that works so far ( a dozen good ones in a row.) I decap with a hand-held decapping tool, trim to length, anneal at about 1/4" down the case wall below the shoulder, lube no higher than within 3/8" of the shoulder, and run the case through a FL die. Seems to be working.
