I'm the proud new owner of a yugo sks, wanting to put on a folding stock before our dreaded new congress (and president:eek:) make such an act illegal again. What does anyone know about the Advanced Tecnology folder as opposed to the Tapco Collapsible 3 piece set? Which will I like better? I'm holding you responsible for my future happiness here, so don't screw up! Much thanks.

Just 15 minutes ago, I FINALLY finished installing a TAPCO collapsable stock on my Chinese SKS. It's the first stock I've ever installed and it at times, it was a pain in the rear, but worth it when I finished. Word of advice when installing it. Make sure you have a good punch, file, and lots of patience. Good luck with whatever choice you make.

Well, guys. Installed the 2 stocks. the Tapco does seem to make it somewhat muzzle heavy and doesn't really shorten things much (3-4"). It does fit well, after some work, and seem to be a quality item. The AT folder on the other hand doesn't fit and seems to be a piece of crap. So, guess I know which I'll be keeping. Wonder if the wholesaler will take the p.o.s. back?

The sks just doesn't look right with a folding stock anyway. And the purpose of the adjustable stock is to fit it to your body (if you are wearing body armor, you need it shorter, and longer if you aren't). It's no surprise that it only shortens the length by a few inches.
