My friend found this in her new house. She said there is a BP and a crown stamped on it. Has anyone seen one before?

With GREAT restraint, I shall not post about the invisible ghost gun.

Dude- we need pictures!!! In focus, large enough to see, well lighted. Half of the proof marks in Europe had a crown of some sort- and BP was a mark used by the Birmingham Proofhouse (England)

    But get us PICTURES, man!

If you don't have any, post pictures of the girl.......:D

Wow! That looks awfully nice to be real. Does it say "Black Powder Only" on it anywhere? If so it is a reproduction.

That appears to be a "Decorative" Non-Gun. I doubt that it has a drilled vent in the pan. Who would shoot a brass casting like that? From what I can see there is no "Frizzen" or screw lock on the cock for holding a flint. It is sorta of a "Paper" weight. :)

I thought that perhaps it was some sort of decorative hand guard or something.

My guess is that it is some kind of a non firing replica.

Its a Nutcracker, scary one but not so functional all the same! Suppose it could be converted to something useful like a cig lighter by the right machinist but its not for killing animals for sure! Still a sharp looking wallhanger!
