I used traps and went in offense instead of defense. Tore out dams and put traps in every slide and run I could find, for when they came back. I hate beavers almost as much as orangello hates bears. They do tons of property damage.

First off, check with local authorities as beavers are protected in certain areas. They play a pivotal role in their ecosystem. Personally I think they do more damage than anything.

If it's all good then traps work very well. I have had much luck with them. Although you will get the occasional smart one who will know to avoid it.

I shot one with a .22lr once and thank goodness I had a 30rd magazine because that badboy didn't take too kindly to being shot. It took me about 20rds to stop him and I was standing on the hood of my 1967 Galaxie 500 when he died. From that point on I used a .223.

Yeah, I thoght someone was gonna be suspended there. For a second.

Poor man. Probably knew he was bleeding to death too. Seems so weird but nature is indeed unforgiving. And his poor family. I had a relative die fly-fishing in British Columbia...

    :(

How embarrassing would it be to be killed by a beaver?

I know a lot of men have been ruined by them, but killed?

Before pulling into port I had to give briefs on how they could actually kill if the proper precautions weren't taken.;)

There's a classification for animals in the wild without

    potent protection. It's called "extinct".

If you want to see wild animals up close

    watch NOVA...

Beaver has been the cause of more deaths than religion. The Trojan war was fought over beaver, Sandy Hook was over beaver (or lack therof), ad infinitum. Notice the dangerous jaws of this particular beaver. Never underestimate a beaver. Alright, I have exhausted all of my one liners on the subject. Now can someone please tell me how this ended up in the AR pages???
