I finally got to go out shooting for the first time. I wanted to show off a little cuz I think I did pretty good and im proud of myself. 40 yards, standing, off hand.

Tell us more. Is that 22 LR? What kind of rifle? Iron sights or scope?

You have just taken the first step on a very long and rewarding journey. I hope you enjoy firearms and shooting as most of us on this forum. By the time you wear out your first pair of ear plugs you will be well on your way. Good Luck.:)

    I love it already! I shot a .22, .270, 20 gauge, and a 12 guage. The pic I posted was with a J.C. Higgins .22lr

Cool. I would rate your marksmanship as minute of critter. :)

Ahhh, JC Higgins. Was that from Sears? I've owned a Ted Williams 12 ga from Sears for just about 35 years...and I still love to shoot that thing.

Be careful, the shooting bug is contageious.

Here is the way this could go down. You buy your first gun maybe a .22 rifle or a revolver. A month goes by and you want the one you didn't buy, and get it. Another month or two and you start going to gun shows and find something you can't live without. Two years later you have seven or eight and decide you need a safe. Just make sure that you buy one big enough.:)

Thanks guys. I bought a .270 a couple months ago (hoping to go elk hunting) but hadn't had a chance to go shooting until this weekend. I also have a Winchester 94 30-30 that I got from my grandmother your Christmas. After shooting the .22 I really want one of my own now. I also want a revolver. Me and my expensive hobbies...lol
