First Bluing Project

    Here's a few pics from my first attempt at bluing. The first couple of pics are before I started....the middle one is after cleaning and polishing....the last couple are after bluing. Will post more pics after I finish staining the stock and put the gun back together.

    Thanks. Took it out in the sunlight this morning to look it over.....a couple of small patches that looked a little splochly, but overall it came out ok.....can't decide if left the blue on too long in places or if I just didn't get it as completely clean as I thought; but for the most part I'm happy with it.

    UPDATE: Finished with everything on my .22. Re-blued the barrel, stripped and restained the stock, and, of course, cleaned, degreased and reoiled all parts while I had the barrel apart. Might, someday, replace the plastic stock extender with one made of the same walnut as the stock and will definately mount a scope on it in the next month or so.
