Well... I had my eyes on a Springfield, but I couldn't pass up the deal I got on my slightly used Remington R1. It isn't as flashy as I set out to buy, but all in all I am pleased with my purchase. If I ever get to the range, I will pass along my experiences.

You joined the club, but you haven't paid your dues yet...get to work! ;):p

The R1 looks real nice and to me, that's a great beginning into 1911's.

Heck, even Cane bought one on spec.

Post up a range report when you can.

    :D

300 rounds of 230 grain FMJ will be here "Friday"... According to FedEx tracking. They are usually right.

I really like the classic look of these without the front cocking serations. Nice gun, and welcome to the club.

Hmmm...it looks pretty good to me. I bet you'll love shooting it...those 300 rounds you have coming via FedEx will go pretty fast, so you might as well reorder now.;)

Welcome to the wonderful world of 1911s. The one thing I love about the is the upgrading to your liking. One minor suggestion I can offer is if the grip keeps on biting ur hand after a couple of rounds...look into an extended beaver tail for it. You won't regret it and ur firing hand will thank u.
