Too bad bubba got a hold of it. A Chilean Mauser in original condition is bringing quite a price nowadays. Don't listen to these guys about the "might not be safe to shoot w/ higher pressure loads stuff." That action is plenty strong. The problem is that the bolt does not have the same gas venting ability as a 98 Mauser if a cartridge were to let go. That being said, a load a grain or two under maximun will be fine. Those 95 Mausers are very accurate too.

Alright thanks cotton dose any of you know if there is a way I can mount a scope with out the bolt hitting it and do they sell aftermarket stocks for them

Boyds make a nice stock for it, an I have had several boyds stocks all were very good quality an less than 120$ shipped go online a looki ya freak

The Mdl. 95 is not in orignal condition. The OP is not familiar with the Mauser Turn Bolt action. We have no idea of the head space on this rifle. Many imported military rifles have maximum head space. It is not a wise choice to load ammo which exceeds 46,000 CUPs not knowing the facts.

Hey nitestalker how do I tell if its a small ring Mauser or large ring mauser because I'm trying to get some scope bases for it but I don't know what ones to get

You need to go to a smith and have the bolt handle turned down, or replaced. It is not scope friendly. It is a small ring action. The 1898 was the 1st large ring action. They are also out there in a small ring configuration. This was a basket case M38 Swede. I had it made into a hunter for my middle son. The bolt handle is about $10.00 at Brownells. A smith cuts off the old one and wields the new one on. He wanted see through rings so he could use it for close shots. The metal has since been woodland camo'ed to match the stock. Rifle is in 6.5x55. '95 and '96 action are almost identical. The stock took a bit of inletting to fit correctly. Weaver style bases work great.

Ok my bolt handle is already bent down 90 degrees dose that sound right now I know it as to be drilled and tapped so dose it matter what bases do I get or is there special one

That is a fine-enough looking shooter and a truly great cartridge. No, it isn't collectible becasue it is sporterized. Frankly I personally wouldn't put alot of money into it though -- buy more ammo and targets!

That's another problem there ain't no dang ammo around me lol I have to reload for it plus is because I like to personalize my guns lol

I have a boyds on a marlin its the light weight thumbhole also the pepper color an it is very comfortable to shoot as well for the price you just cant go wrong.
