I went and bought a RIA 1911 GI today, been wanting a 1911 and what I have seen and read about the RIA it seemed like a solid buy. For $400 I had to go ahead and get it. A friend has one that has been a solid shooter. Plus while I was there I picked up a S&W Sigma 9mm for the wife she really liked the way it handled, so it is hers. Ready to go to the range now!
I will join in the congrats. There is nothing like a 1911, and the folks I know that have Rock Islands, love them. Good move!
Welcome to the family of 1911 owners. Hang on to your first one, it's like a first car. Oh, start saving because you'll soon want another one.
Congrates on the purchase of the RIA. It is a great handgun for the price. I picked up my RIA Compact and love it. Had some problems at first where it did not want to feed any ammo. I even had a hard time loading FMJ's, so I sent it back for some warranty work. I was surprised at how fast the turn around time was. Less then 3wks, RIA had a great warranty department.
I have a friend that owns a pawn shop in Martinez Ga. He always gives me a good deal. I almost hate to walk in to visit cause I usually end up spending money! Truth be known I traded my SKS for the RIA and bought the Sigma for $175.
