Pick your own use: self defense, home defense, plinking, hunting, intimidation factor, reloading, varminting, assassination, general use, stockpiling, etc.

What is your favorite revolver caliber? Personally, I've never shot anything bigger than a .357 Magnum.

But .357 is definitely my favorite, for pretty much everything. I reload for it, so the price doesn't bother me. IMO, it is an extremely versatile caliber.

I showed you mine, now show me yours. :D

I like .357, I've shot bigger. Not a fan of the .500 really. Personal favorite of what I have on hand would have to be the 22 mag.
Fun to shoot, accurate, not very expensive, easy to carry alot of it and not bad as far as stopping power goes.
Although I may have to update this based on gun preference alone. I may like my colt better but haven't managed to find any .38 special yet.

Have admit I enjoy everything from 22 to 357 in revolver calibers. If I had to choose only one it would be my 38 spl cowboy loads. Just a lot of fun to shoot.

I've shot several different caliber revolvers from .22lr to a 500 magnum, my favorite is by far the .357 magnum.

You can use anything from light loaded 38s for plinking, to hot .357s for serious business. Can't beat it.

45 Colt, with 44 special a close second.

I have both a .357 and a .44. I like both. But the versatility of the 44 when you are a hand loader is nothing short of amazing. I can load a 300 grain sledgehammer that will make Arnold flinch. And I can load a light bullet with a light load that will kick like a 22. The 357 can do the 22 thing...but forget about the sledgehammer effect.

I went with the .38 but my 686 is my current favorite. I like my light .38 reloads in it but do load some moderate .357s. A couple months ago it would have been .44 special for the same reason but the .38 is cheaper to load for and smoother to shoot.

I am the lone .41 fan as of now. The .41 shoots flatter than the .44, hits harder than the .357, recoils far less than it should. 170 gr JHC's at 1600 fps are screamers. 210 SWC's at 1000 fps are very mild.

The only draw back is there are no shot shells available. I developed a shot shell load using gas checks above and below the shot. Works very well, but is time consuming to load.

i guess my overwhelming favorite is the 357 Magnum, just because i have owned more of them than any other revolver caliber, but the 44 Magnum isslowly working itself up to that point. i have enjoyed my 44 magnum revolver so much since i acquired it and have worked up some very nice loads for it, that are pleasant to shoot in it.

What kind of .44 mag do you have?

I'll go with the Dirty Harry camp. Have owned a 44 mag. Of some form or fashion since I was 18.

Fair enough, I guess Jäger will just have to suffer.

I don't now why, but I actually like the sound of "Long Colt" more.

38 special for plinking 357 for home defense, I also enjoy 45 Colt at the range.
