    I bought a Marlin 336/30-30 in 87, it killed many a blacktailed deer here in Washington but I traded it for a S&W 439 9mm & a Taurus PT940 in 40S&W.

Now the only old “classic” is a 1969 870 magnum and 1987 Ruger 10/22 Deluxe. Sorry no pics.

Sounds about like when I got my first one. Sold it to probably buy car parts, beer or whatever. Stupid things I did as a “kid”. Saw my current one about 10 years ago and thought about how pretty the wood was and bought it. It’s gonna stay until I will it away.

I love my lever guns, all of them. Watching the old farts shoot their M1s on the outdoor range makes me want one. I bake them cookies, they let me shoot their guns, i cant afford...lol. Especially some of their 1911s Nighthawks, Ed Browns, fusions....

I do the "drool" thing. Seems to work well, too.

Shot a custom Mauser hunting rifle someone had brought to the range, some years back. Never seen the guy there, before, but his rifle looked great. Started chatting. He offered me a few shots. Tight, ragged group at 100yds. Had never shot Mausers before. "Fell in love" that day, with the thing. Dang, but was it accurate and well balanced. No need to bake cookies for the guy. Just a bit of judicious stroking of the ego and drooling over the rifle ...

I think the Ruger #1 B to be the prettiest production rifle made.
Savage 99 is the only lever gun I can tolerate.
Non AR stuff..........like an FNC para.

    A couple of my favorites... 1895 Chilean Mauser in 7x57 and a VZ24 in 257 Roberts. [IMG][IMG]

The Model 71 is, imo, The nicest rifle Winchester ever built.

My M98 30/06AI clunky as it is it's put a lot of pigs and goats on the deck plus a cat or 2 a couple of wild dogs, donkeys and feral horses.
I like the Mausers for their robustness, simplicity and they just work.

I like my Marlin 45/70 always wanted a 45/70 after years ago a mate had 1 in a 94 Winchester and after he bowled a goat over with it I was hooked on the calibre and the splat factor.

    My M98 30/06AIwith a 6x Leupold Compact scope.

My 257AI is built on a VZ24 action. Other than the Ruger Precisions, it is the most accurate rifle I own.
