I have killed a lot of Coyotes with the 223/5.56 55gr round from an AR.

But my favorite caliber and ammunition choices for Coyotes are these two:
    6.5 Grendel 95gr. Hornady V-Max From a Sabre Defence Industries 18" Var-Comp AR or
243 Winchester 75gr. Hornady V-Max From a Sako Forrester Varmint Bolt Action

Only round I've used with it being an instant kill is an 87gr V-max out of a Remington 770 chambered in .243. So I guess that makes it my favourite round.

My 22 magnum sure does some damage if you don't hit where you want. A little inconvenient. Still an awesome little round

    Born to Hunt,

My Sako has sported a Leupold 3.5 X 10 Tactical Scope for many years. I like it because I can crank it down for closer shots or close in dim light and I have the 10X for longer shots or taking closer looks and longer range shots. It also has the towers for quick adjustment for yardage corrections. Where I hunt I do not need more power since 400 yards is about the max. It also has a duplex reticle so I can see it in dimmer light. The finer cross hairs all but disappear when the light gets dim. But there are other lesser expensive good quality scopes that will do you well for what you want. For example Nikon makes great scopes also. I prefer scopes with the 30MM Scope Tube and at least 44 MM Objective Lens. Most of my other scopes are 50MM Obj. They let in more light.

    Sniper03,
Awesome man. I have a tikka t3 lite ss in 270 and with a vortex diamondback 4-12x40AO. That scope is AMAZING. only $300. I'm really wanting to get another 243. They are freakin sweet

I don't have any favorite caliber for yotes,I just use what ever I have in hand at the time.
22LR-300WM,it's all the same = Dead yote!

I got this one with my 25/06 at 350 yards on a full out run. It really messed it's day up!

I only have two rifles and i cant decide what caliber is my favorite, Ive got a few yotes with my remington 770 in 30-06 shooting 165 gr hornaday SST reloads. And then there is my remington 700 .243 shooting 58 gr hornady superformance, haven't got to take it in the woods yet because i just got it last week. I would have to say that my favorite brand by far is Remington.

To me nothing beats the 243. Such a versatile round. If you wanted you could go mule deer or elk huntin and then go out on a rabbit hunt with it. Definitely a tie for favorite round for me.

Rem 700 in .204 Ruger. Hornady VMAX ballistic tip 4225 fps, zero drop at 200 yards. I love this round, every trigger pull is like a surgical strike.

Heard rumors of being a barrel burner with less shots down the tube as other small, high velocity rounds. That true??

223/5.56 works great over good distance. But I've fell many with a 22 mag. I've used a 17HMR but I fell out of love wit hit after having wind push the round a little more than I was happy with. It will work though if you can hit well with it.:)
