Whatever runs the smoothest. And how can he have it full auto?

Tax stamp through ATF. I think its called NFA transfer. He had to jump through hoops to get it.

Ahh so he bought an old one. Sounds like a butt load of fun to shoot.

Yeah its definitely old. It was made in Brazil. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but I can't wait. He said he was having problems with it though but he found how to set the gas system so hopefully that works.

So it turns out my friend is an idiot. The gun is not full auto. The selector switch will go to auto but because of the U.S. made bolt carrier it only fires semi auto. I just assumed hr knew what he was talking about and since he bought it from a lgs he did a nfa to get it. Kinda makes me look like a ****** now don't it. He brought it over to my house the other day and I got to look at it a little closer and shoot it. Still a dang sweet gun though.

So he has a registered machine gun that is NOT full auto? Idiot is correct. IF (and that is one really big IF) it is a registered machinegun, he can upgrade the parts to return the full auti functionality.

No. Its not registered as a full auto. He called me up and told me he had bought a full auto from a gun store so I just assumed (yes I know what assuming gets me) that he had registered it on a tax stamp. I didn't think he was stupid enough to not know what he was talking about. Turns out he was. Its not full auto and he didn't do a tax stamp.

He probably saw the three position selector and "assumed" it was full auto. He thought he was getting over on someone.

Ain't no telling. I should have known better but I let my excitement for gettin to shoot full auto get the best of me. Kinda made me feel like an idiot when I found out

The gas selector ring has nothing to do with full auto.the recommended setting is a 3.
