There was a thread on here where members posted pics of their handguns and knives. I looked for it, but couldn't find it.

Anyway, last night I took quick snap with my iphone of my "main" 1911 and my Swamp Rat Camp Tramp, so thought I'd post it here also.

    The blade looks textured.

That's the coating. I'm not overly fond of coated blades, but that's how it's made.

What don't you like? The gun? The knife? Both?

Like I said, I'm not real fond of a coated blade in general, but Swamp Rat is made by the Busse family, and this is the older model, made from a variant of 52100 steel. It's a heck of a knife. I got this one in a trade, and it's a little larger for most uses, but I have it's little brother, the Howling Rat, and I've been very satisfied with it.

As I mentioned above, the Camp Tramp is a little large for most casual chores. So far it's pretty much been residing in the cabinet, waiting for a need to arise. I've found that my most useful outdoor knives are those with a 4"-5" blade. My Howling Rat has about a 4.5" blade.
