A local shop has a BAKAI or BAKAL? Russian made in 30-06 over under with double trigers. Any one know about these or the company? He also said they make gun's for Remington so they should be good. It looks sweet.
    Thank's Bob

I haven't found one yet, but I did write to remington and tried to convince them to make the Baikal double rifle in 500 S&W mag... everything I've read points to good quality on these guns and they can be regulated by means of the jack screw (I think its under the forend) to whatever load you plan to use the most.

Don't know about making guns for Remington; I think your source is confusing them with Zastava. Baikals have been around a long time. Here is a good article about Baikals:

Thanks for the very nice link. It shows several calibers available. Also the dealer which has it must have a good price even with a entry level scope. A link to the distributer say's that the Spartan line by Remington is made by Baikal.

Hmm. I am not familiar with the Spartan brand.
