"I" was installing the takedown pins on my dads lower and the rear one looked really long so I compared it to the front one and they were both the same length. I went ahead and installed it and I think its too long. It looks too long and does not seem to lock in place when I push it in only when I pull it out. The front one locks fine. I actually lost the front detent, luckily the store threw in an extra!
What should I do about the rear takedown pin ? The picture don't really show how far it sticks out to well. Ill take better ones tomorrow. It came from a cmmg parts kit. ImageUploadedByFirearms Talk1397710296.964806.jpg ImageUploadedByFirearms Talk1397710334.031117.jpg

Much too long, cannot tell anything else from your photo, does it have a channel for the detent? Extended pins would protrude on the other side of the receiver.

Another way to verify you have 2 front pins is to look at the heads. If they are both the same size, they are both front. If one is bigger (as in thickness, not diameter), then they are front and back.

If they are different size heads then it could be for a .308 or something
