Well, I sold my yugo ak47 because there is not enough cool bling to be purchased so I started looking for a new ak to buy. Guns shops around here seem to still have them at an outrage price!! A pawn shop had a used romanian wasr 10 that looked like crap for 700 bucks....knowing that I can find wayyyy better deals online I just simply handed the gun back to the guy and said good day sir. Now my next problem...every FFL dealer around here seems to charges 50 bucks plus sales tax on every gun:mad::mad:.

Oh well just thought i would share....

This would probably get more response if it were posted in rifles instead of the general handgun area - just saying.

BTW, bling on my guns is top priority as well...

    fees and taxes

yeah...it's not the price of the firearm that gets you....it's the fees and taxes that get stuck on at the last minute....
$50 sounds about right for the transfer fee....that's what all the dealers here in Las Vegas are charging....for a rifle. it's $75 for a handgun.

At this point in the game, I consider anything over $35 for a transfer fee to be gouging. The dealer should be compensated, but should realize the good will generated to be invaluable. The customer will come back for other, instock, more profitable items. Too many dealers act like they are doing us, the CUSTOMERS, a favor by even being in business. With the cost of living in McAllen, $75 is just plain theft.

When i looked at the listing of FFL's in my area on the Gunbroker site (not recommending buying there) i was surprised by how many i hadn't heard of. Maybe you are missing a few; check out that list.

maybe look for the guy that is just doing transfers out of his garage for $20.

Even Gander here charges $25 for a transfer. $50 would make me laugh in your face and walk out and never look back.

My FFL charges me $15.00 per transfer. There is no tax here! I buy them and have them shipped to him. Simple. My old FFL dealer went up from $20.00 to $40.00 about 6 years ago. I have not been back to his shop since, for anything.

Well I looked around...and found a small gun shop that charges 30 bucks per transfer. I am going to go with him till I can join a shooting range club...maybe they have discounts for members.

Will do....most FFL that show up in searches, I have been too and they charge around 50 bucks

Where in Texas are you from robocop10mm?
