Alright. We had an 450 press we were gonna by the kit to move it to a 550 instead we decided to get the ultimate. The 650. Got it all set up and started real slow to make sure things were good. The primer wheel is spinning fine and the primers are falling in like they should but they will not seat into the case when we press the Handle forward. With the case Not there, the primer will raise up like it should. Can't figure out why it's not working all looks to be set up correctly. Any suggestions?

We are using cci large pistol primers and the reloads are 45 acp.
    Thanks.

I have a 650xl, I love it! But I would double check your set up, and if it looks ok, call them up. They are very polite, they should help.

I know it must be something simple. Everyone who I have ever talked to who uses one loves it. My father in law is thinking he should have gone with the 550. I think once we figure it out he will love it.

You aren't using the small primer case 45 acp are you? I would try a different brand of primer also. Calling Dillon is also a good idea they have the best customer service I have ever encountered.

My first thought is to try other brands of primers. Just like some guns like some ammos and other guns like other ammos, some press's like some primers and another press will like another primer.

    First things first.

Make sure you are seating the case all the way into the shell holder. If you are off even by a hair it will bind up and smash the primer.

I would double check the tightness in the shell plate. A lose shell plate will not center the round and thus not allow you to insert it. It has to have no up/down movement, but needs to rotate freely.

Also make sure you are not trying to use either Crimped Military .45's or the new and improved .45's that are using small pistol primers.

    Good luck.

To properly adjust the primer station you need to adjust the locater arm on the primer station. There is a section in the dillon manual that details the procedure. There is a small sdrew that needs to be turned ever so slightly in or out for the locator arm to be set right.

But if your using small primer 45acp you do need to have it set for small primer loading.

Sounds like the shell plate needs to be loosened.

Don't forget the set screw that holds the shellplate bolt.

    I had this issue too
