Dick's will never see another dime of my money. Dick's and CTD are both on my never buy from again list.

I say starve them out of business. If they couldn't stand behind us when we needed them they can just go pound sand.

immediately after the shootings they pulled off all there AR 15s and parts from the shelves. said they werent going to sell them... even though they were still legal firearms. and now they are putting them back out.

Ahh ok. Werent we already aware that dicks is not our backbone for 2A stuff? Its not like it was a real shocker. Plus, it was a business decision. I get it.

I don't see it as a very wise business decision. Pissing on the people that buy your products isn't that smart.

Just so we're clear on this...

Point of fact here... Dick's pulled the AR's off the shelf under pressure after Newtown... Claimed they would NOT be selling them anymore (although they never stated whether or not it would be on a permanent basis)... and are now selling them at the "Field & Stream" chain that they own. With that in mind they now have the Anti's AND the (slighted ??) gun enthusiast pissed at them..... (IMHO) it seems to me they are like the aforementioned Cheaper Than Dirt and (while never admitting they did anything wrong) trying to get a healthy customer base back.

I just posted this thread to get a gauge on how my fellow shooter feel about that... PLEASE don't start attacking each other over this.

As for myself, I have no inclination to buy firearms from a big chain... especially AR platforms that can be had from other reliable sources .... I would rather give my money to them or the local Ma & Pa who (I feel) stood by the shooters during the panic...
BUT.. would I blame anyone else for getting their supplies from them ??? Nope.... especially when you might have no other choice in your particular area.

Nobodys attacking anybody. We were just having a nice convo :). Ive only ever bought one thing from dicks, so im not too worried about. They made their bed, now they can sleep in it. Im not going to get in there and rustle stuff up even more. And its funny you say that about the ma and pa shops. Mine that i spent a TON of money at, begain fear mongrring and scaring oeople ito buying guns. It was disgusting. I dont buy guns from them anymore and just made my first real purchase at cabelas instead. It was quite a change in the tides.

They also broke it off in Troy Industries. They had a contract with them for so many guns and then basically said they weren't taking the rest of them when they pulled them off the shelves . They really were bargains , too bad they didnt support us .

Dicks sucks plain and simple. A few years back they where going to buy out bobs clothing store. WEll my grandmother has worked for bobs in the distrupution center for 27 years of her life and dicks the *******s were goin to fire her and hire all new workers. She was only 6 months from retirement. Thank god they backed out. Since then ill never step foot in one. Nor will they ever see another one of my friends or family there.

Nobody is doing any attacking in here. I don't care if someone buys from them or not. I personally won't do business with them but that's my opinion only, not everyone else's. Panda, a lot of the small time stores around me did the same thing. There is only one store out of 4 in my town that did that. I try to buy at that one local store, but i also use cabela's and other websites too. i just got thru ordering some 223 from them for 5 dollars a box. They get it in that cheap every now and then but it goes really fast.

Its just heartbreaking because these local stores were suppose to be the ones we can depend on and they end up feeding on the fear too

Wow... I feel for you guys. As a repeat customer, my local kept me in the loop on when he got a shipment of things in via text. While there were certain items that did (and still) remain scarce.. They did make me feel like we were all in this thing together. They even suggested where I could find AR mags when they didn't have any... (the pawn shops of Fayetteville) and they were right on the money with it. I remember things like that and all my reloading/shooting buddies who helped keep me shooting. ...I also remember who acted like a (pun intended here) bunch o' dicks too!!

I have bought a Henry .22 and a lot of ammo from Dicks. They had the cheapest price on the .22 and actually had ammo compared to all the other stores. My LGS actually jacked up the prices on AR mags and firearms because of all this crap going on, so if I could find it at a lower price then I was buying it!!!

We don't have any of their stores locally. I have, in the past, sent a nephew a gift card from them; I will not be doing that again. They are down there with CTD on my list of last resorts.

The owners of dicks and ctd wouldn't see a drop of pee from if they were on fire much less buy anything from them.

I remember going to dick's for a particular fishing reel , but were out of them. So I asked if they could order one in for me, and was told they couldn't order anything, they get them when they get them. Haven't been back, since.
