After receiving my XDS 45 back from the factory (famous grip safety recall) It came back defective. The gun arrived and it would fire (trigger pull and firing pin release) even without depressing the grip safety. BIG SAFETY CONCERN. Check out my video and judge for yourself.

I dont think you even need to take it to the range to demonstrate , I would make the call to SA and get that thing headed back

I sent it back and contacted Roxanne Lyttles
    Distribution Coordinator Assistant
    Springfield Inc.
    Ph: 800-680-6866 ext 8940

I expressed the safety concerns and even sent them a link to the private video. I mentioned I did not want this model back as I now do not trust it for a daily carry. I wanted options (different model or money back). They have sent the handgun back (against my instructions). It should arrive shortly, apparently now they replaced the Seer Housing.

Have most of the models that have been recalled the two tone models?

They can't send you personally a different gun. They can only do that through a ffl. I've been through that process before. Its usually only through the dealer that sold it to you. Otherwise they have to send you the same gun back.
