This is the 1911 I have decided on for now since I already have so much .40 ammo. I suppose I could sell or trade the ammo, but it would be a trade down on rounds.

There are several gunshops in my area and I'm going to check all of them to get the best deal. I'm just like that with money, lol.

How much could I expect to pay for this pistol? Dan Wesson Pointman 7 in .40. I've checked online and found the prices varying from 960 - 1250.

Yep, I'm selling the xd40 sc od green if anyone's interested.

I had a Pointman 7 in .45 and it was a great pistol. Very tight and very accurate. Didn't need 2 full-size target quality guns so I sold it and kept the Kimber Gold Match. I know there's a fella on GunsAmerica (guns4sale I think) that deals in factory seconds (as well as NIB), and these have very minute flaws. Looked this morning and he had them listed...

Decided to go with the CBOB in .45 for easier carry and so I don't ever have to hear it about .40 1911's. :(

I called several different places to price them.

First place...'call back in 1hr and I'll have the price for you." I call back...."sorry, we've been really busy. What is your number?" pfft......no thanks anyway...

Second place...."can you call back in 30minutes?" Sure...I call back. "Our carrier doesn't get the dan wessons since CZ, we can't order them." ok.... whatever...

Third place...I'll call you back....it's been TWO HOURS.

Fourth place is an hour away, but they gave me a price $1085.28 and were very friendly right away!

    What's with people??

I think Dan Wesson is right up at the top of the list for "bang for the buck". The price for them has gone up steeply in the last 6 months, but for what you get in them and the fit they have as the norm, it's still one heck of a deal in my book. They were underpriced for years. I have a CBOB and I can find no fault in it with the one exception that the grip safety was a little loose. That was taken care of by a simple adjustment of the spring. You're lucky to have choices where you are. In KC they're hard to find at all, let alone have more than one to choose from.
    Good luck!

I love my Dan Wesson. I think you'll be impressed by the accuracy.
