I've been sold on DW's since a friend of mine reccomended them last year. After hours of research and reading I'm even more sold. There 1911's are just top notch for a production gun. I believe better than any production gun on the market. I really wish they would have continued the cbob or even made one in an aluminum frame for carry, but now I like the CCO's. This will most likely be my first firearm purchase this year.

I wish I was getting a return but since I was basically self employed the last 4 months of the year I have a feeling I'll be paying in this time.

These won't even be ready until mid february I've read.

They will have a nice ionbonded finish instead of the cerakote, but the price might be the dealbreaker between the 09 and the 10 models.

You're gonna love the CCO! I highly recommend this one, it's UBERschweet!
I get mine back tomorrow - I sent if off to Dave Severns to have an STI long carbon trigger and ambi safety put in.

Hey Sarge! Is it worth waiting for the 2010 model or should I go ahead with the 09' ? I think either would be great and I think their biggest upgrade is the finish, but the 09' is cerakote already, cerakote is good stuff.

Just my opinion, but I'd wait for the '10 model. The new duty treat metal finish is supposed to be astonishing in toughness. It's a treatment much like IonBond, but form what we're being told (which isn't a whole lot) it's even better. Other improvements on the '10 models go to the inner working pieces being made out of better quality tool steel.
MSRP on the 2010 model is $1,530, but street prices will be between 13 and 14 hundred depending on your dealer. With the improvements to the finish and the internals, this is not outrageous when compared with the 11 to 12 hundred prices on the '09's now.
Good luck with your decision, I don't think there is a WRONG way to go.
    Thanks,
    Sarge

Well, unfortunately you probably won't be seeing any of these in the used market for quite a while. Only 300 were made this year, and those that have them really REALLY like them. If you are very lucky, you might find one in a store somewhere that hasn't sold, but there are many dealers that still have waiting lists for them, so the odds are long. The 2009's went for around $1,100, but the new models have the duty treatment finish and a few other imporvements and the price is up. I don't say this often, but I believe the price increase in justified in this pistol. It's worth every penny.
    Good luck with your search!

GEEEEZZZZZZ, the only DW's availiable now that I like are the CBOB's in 10mm. I don't want a 10mm!

Looks like I may be traveling down a different path this time and save the DW for when they bring back the cbob...........if they do.

The CBOB is now the VBOB. Pretty much simply a name change. Still commander length bobtail, but they've added a number of upgrades to it including a checkered MSH housing that many have wanted for a long time. Forged frame, better internals, Heinie sights, G10 grips.
I wish you well in your search! :)

P.S. - They are still going to make the "original" CBOB, but only about 300 units, and all are going to California since it's one of two DW models already on the approved list. Just wanted to clear that up. ;)
