I am wondering if anyone owns either the CZ 455 or 452 rifle, or have you shot one? I found that they are both reasonably priced and I have been looking at .22LR bolt guns and have leaned towards these two models. I am wondering how reliable they are and if they will hold up over time.

If you could let me know you experiences, both good and bad, that would be awesome.

    Thanks!

I got my 452 when I was 12 and I still have it and still shoot it. It's still as accurate as ever and has held up great I have had the thing for 13 years and it looks and shoots like its brand new. They are great rifles

My 452 22lr shoots great. I would like to have a 455 in 22 mag.

I own a CZ 455 Lux that I just bought last Spring. I also have an AMT 10/22 lightining (ruger 10/22), a browning Buckmark Semi-Auto, and a Smith 617 Revolver. The CZ is my favorite 22 gun to shoot. If I could do it all over again, I'd just buy the CZ for a rifle, and the 617 for a pistol, and never miss the others.

An excellent choice in classical style, especially if you want iron sights. I think at this time the 22 Magnum is a better buy. If you are sure about using a scope, the Browning T Bolt offers as much grace, but also a straight pull.

I have had several 452's, my current one is a left hand. They have wood that ranges from pretty good to spectacular, triggers are easy to tune, accuracy in all mine is 1" or less at 100 yards. ( My heavy barrel "Varmint" 452 in .17 HMR would do MUCH better than 1"). The .22's do 3/8ths" or so at 50, and at 25 good ammo will go into one ragged hole. Savages and Marlin rim fires are sturdy and shoot well, but have a pretty funky looking action. The action on CZ's look like a scaled down Sako or Mini Mauser, they are things of beauty. I have had 2 Browning T-Bolts, one was a .17 and one a .22 L.R. They are trim, light and have a neat straight pull action, really cool but expensive magazines ( flush 10 round mag that's not near as wide as a 10/22 mag, unique figure 8 feed) and good wood and finish. But the accuracy is not there compared to other brands and the triggers are sub par, plastic and almost impossible to lighten. So I parted with mine, no more Brownings in my future plans, but many more CZ's! Top photo is the 452 .22, T-Bolt .17 at bottom. Other picture is the CZ in the "killing fields" gopher field behind my house.

So why at this time is the 22 mag a better purchase?

Good 22LR ammo used to be low budget but not anymore. You can do a lot more with the Mags for not much more $$. They are handier in a bolt action esp when u wear gloves. The recoil is a nonissue still. That from personal exper

    DOH!

You took the bait Merc. :D

I just happened to buy all this before 22LR went up in cost and was not to be seen on store shelves. But you had some good points for the future buyers, and 22lr being hard to find :D

    Nice little cache there.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I have been told they are great little rifles, but I wanted to see what people who have used them actually thought. I will probably go grab one here soon.
