I made this with some left over ak/ar parts and a mosin

Yea it looks sweet I'd like to know how it shoots too I have a mosin apart just begging to have something cool done to it

It shoots good but have attach some type of side mount scope. I shortened the barrel around 7" and recrowned on my lathe. So if the bullet doesn't get them the fire ball will. Lol

Basically I machined an aluminum receiver that the barreled action bolted inside of then mounted the ar foregrip to the aluminum so the barrel free floats. Milled a pocket for the trigger and mag. Then just attached an ak grip and ar buttstock to the aluminum receiver.

Only someone who hasn't or can't build a custom rifle would wonder why. I bet you are a wall-mart special kind of guy

Good idea. If you streamline the process, set a process to mass produce it, you just might have a home business on your hands. With the price of a mosin, lots of people might be interested in being able to do that.

I would take the red dot off, and put a higher magnification scout scope on it. Also, will the m4 stock hold up to the recoil?

Thanks for the suggestion, but no shopping trips are in my immediate future. I am well fixed for modern and historical firearms and I understand the value of both. I am sure that there is some 16 year old Ninja wannabe, walking through your local mall, that would love to own a tacticool Mosin-Nagant.

Just because you can paint, there is no value in putting a mustache on the Mona Lisa.
