Close quarter tactical in Utica Michigan great staff, great range. If I had the chance to do mine again I would take it there for sure.I live in northern metro Detroit and am looking for recommendations on a good CPL instructor somewhat nearby. I don't mind driving if its worth it.
Yea I've shot there a few times. I do like it. I don't know anything about their instructors though. I suppose I could check it out online.dmtshooter said:Close quarter tactical in Utica Michigan great staff, great range. If I had the chance to do mine again I would take it there for sure.
Good luck on your search and good luck as you go through the cpl process. If you live in Macomb county you expect to have to go before the gun board to get your license but it's nothing to worry about.Yea I've shot there a few times. I do like it. There are no gun boards in Michigan anymore. There was a change in the Cpl process and I believe it goes through the state police not a gun board.Good luck on your search and good luck as you go through the cpl process. I believe that was part of sb-59 which was vetoed by Snyder. So unfortunately for now gun boards still exist and even if they would have passed it would not have taken effect until may of this year. There are no gun boards in Michigan anymore. I found info on their website about the instructors. They seem pretty well versed in firearm experience. I scheduled mine for march 2dmtshooter said:Close quarter tactical in Utica Michigan great staff, great range. If I had the chance to do mine again I would take it there for sure.

Good luck
7411 is open to law enforcement, and is on LIEN. Also, some counties still have gun boards.I don't think I'll have anything to worry about. I have somethjng on my record, but it was filed under 7411 and isn't open to the public. They will still be able to find it through my finger prints but its not supposed to be used against me. I just hope they know thatI don't feel like having any hiccups but I suppose that's always a good possibility with something like obtaining your cpl.
But I was never "charged" with it. That's what counts. It was my one "freebie". My second charge was an MIP which doesn't count toward one of the restrictions. And the offense occurred just over 8 years ago, which is the time period listed. My probation for it ended just under 8 years ago. I'm not sure when they start the countdown from. I would assume from when the offense happened.ltcrlf said:7411 is open to law enforcement, and is on LIEN. Also, some counties still have gun boards.
