I spotted three coyotes in the pasture next to my house about 12 this afternoon. I managed to get these two. Range was about 150 yards. I took the first one broadside in the shoulder and I figured that would be it as the other two would run. Well, coyote two came back for coyote one. That was a bad idea. Coyote two took one round in the chest and dropped without so much as a twitch.
The gun is a Rock River Predator, 20" (1:8 twist) with a Nikon 4.5-14 scope. The bullet was a Prvi Partizan 69 grain BTHP.

Great pic, I'd ned a can on the end of my AR to dispatch neighborhood coyotes. Good shooting! Does your Nikon Buckmaster have a BDC reticle?

My scope has the mil-dot reticle. I started to go with the BDC but I figure the mil-dot will work better for me as the scope may end up on something else someday. I am really pleased with the scope, I just wish it had larger target style turrents.

I just took my third coyote this evening. Same pasture, in about the same spot. She was on a dead run and I wasn't going to get a shot, but she stopped to stare at me. Actually, I think she stopped to try and figure out what a squirrel was loudly fussing at (me:D). The critter should have kept running.

I am starting to like this kind of hunting:D.

I just love it when a coyote suffers from acute lead poisoning.

it's not bad, just leaves a greasy film in your mouth you cant hardly wash out. Not much different than opossum.

Pretty much agree. But you forgot about the chasing cats and cars and an almost unstoppable urge to lick your...wait a minute. Nothing to see here, move along.

As a former trapper I wonder why you are shooting them this time of year? Unless they are bothering calves or lambs I would wait until the pelt gets prime and at least get some money out of them. I know that pelts aren't worth as much as they used to be, but it seems like a waste of a resource.
    What say you?
