    What's your budget?

You can pick up a Remington 700 with a cheap synthetic stock and a scope that will hold a zero for under $500 at Walmart. Dont need a large round to take out a yote either.

Now if you got plenty of $$ A RRA LAR-15 or LAR-8 would make a great yote killer. Match quality barrels, wylde chamber, good recoil management, and you'll never run out of ammo for follow up shots unless you are dealing with an army of zombie coyotes.

I use a Rem 700 in .204 Ruger with Hornady V-Max ballistic tip, 4225 fps. Lights out Senor Coyote.

I hope to use my AR15 in 556 for coyote soon. I know that there are a lot of guys using that platform and caliber.

Don't know how far you plan on shooting, but my howa 223 with a 20 inch bull barrel puts three shots into the same tiny hole at 100yards.

Bought this one specifically for coyote,
    It works.
Savage 11 Trophy Hunter, .223, comes with Nikon ProStaff 3x9x40 bdc,
accutrigger, composite stock, for under $500.

Oh yeah, it is a tack driver.

What did you do to the stock? Did it come from the factory like that?

    I painted it.

    Very easy process.
Paint a base coat of silver Fusion paint at WalMart.Dry 24 hrs.
Stretch fishnet pantyhose to your liking.
Spray Black fusion . Dry 24hrs.
Let dry 24hrs, remove pantyhose, spray 6 -8 coats of clear coat.
    Dry 7 days, wax.

    Easy.

I hunt with it, and range shoot it a lot, holds up great.

I did another one in tan base and 2 browns , looks like a Copperhead snake. FUN.

Once the clear coat cures(7 days) I use a auto polymer car polish on it.
It sheds water, and is tough as nails.
    Tougher than wood.;)

Check out the Marlin X7VH. I bought one a couple years ago, put a Nikon 4-12 with BDC on it. I tagged three at about 200 yards and it turned them upside down! Very accurate rifle and the trigger system is a dream come true!

You can buy one for about $319. and add scope.

"The X7VH has been built for those who demand premium features at a fair price. Noteworthy features include our adjustable Pro-Fire™ trigger system, Soft-Tech™ recoil pad, fluted bolt for speed and smoothness, a pillar bedded stock for accuracy and recessed "target style" muzzle crown Price right, the X7 is a rifle that you can be proud of at a price you can afford"

It really does not matter. The Sioux culture says, a Coyote will howl over the last humans grave. They win in the end.:)

Using the same rifle for both varmints and big game tends to make the owner a lot handier with his/her hunting rifle.

I would recommend a Mossberg MVP. Great guns. They have a model for long range shooting and close quarters stuff. I have the more compact, close quarters stuff. couldn't be more happy with it. Definitely worth looking into.

Just before she claims back all of her land.

anyway isnt the 22 250 for these critters?

or similarly to deer, have they grown kevlar hides?
