Anyone know if this ammo - 880 rd crate - 7.62x54R Bulgarian 148 grain Light Ball Silver Tip ammo mfg 1971 - has corrosive primers or not? They don't state whether it is or not on the website I'm looking at.

If you clean your gun after shooting it doesn't matter.

Yes, it likely IS corrosive. All Warsaw Pact ammo from the period generally is.

And every round fired by all sides in WW 2 EXCEPT M1 Carbine was also corrosive. No big deal. After shooting, pour a quart of hot water thru the barrel, 2 drops of dawn dish detergent on bore brush, scrub the bore, pour another qt of hot water thru the bore, let sit for 5 minutes, dry patch, oiled patch, done.

Oh yeah, I have tons of corrosive primer ammo. I was just wondering if the whole hot water, Windex, whatever process could be avoided with this ammo, since it was manufactured in 1971.
