Man that is way to cool, to bad it was put on ice.
It was made to fly like just a few feet off the ground.
It said it flew at around 300 mph, I bet that would feel like you were doing more like 800 mph being that you're only a few feet from the surface

Ground effect is pretty freaking scary and awesome. Ever seen a plane bounce on landing? It's often ground effect on the aircraft. It causes pilots to overreact which results in bouncing planes. Fun stuff! Ok scary but fun!
GE in reality is the fact that a plane flies better when it is lower than 1/2 it's wing span. So when you enter ground effect you all of a sudden have more lift than you expected.
