just curious which people like better the colt rail gun O1980RG or the colt gold cup O5870NM?
personally i would go with the Gold Cup, just because i don't think a rail looks right on a Colt. that's just my opinion and preference. to each his own though.
well i want to put a light on it (tlr-2s) but its not a have to have that's why i'm comparing the 2.
This choice shows the range of options Colt offers to it's customers.
The Colt Rail Gun is outfitted with features for the law enforcement community, the shooting enthusiast and the personal defense user.
The Colt Gold Cup National Match is the standard for competitive guns.
Both would be an excellent choice depending on the shooter's need.
I personally would go for the Au Cup.
You don't need to put a light on a competition gun.
These two guns are at diametric ends of the handgun use spectrum.
it would be for hd and comp. shooting so i probably wont get the light dont really need it just would like to have it.
For HD/PD use you need to mount your flashlight in your weak-side hand. Mounting it on the muzzle of your gun presents a glaring target with a bad choice for a backstop.
oh ok. well what would you recommend to with gold cup or rail gun?
For what you are describing in your posts the gold cup will be your best bet. I'm not a fan of rail 1911s but each to his own. I'm like Canebrake the backstop is not good on a light mounted on the gun.
Au is atomic number 79 on the periodic table of elements.
