My Dad has a colt python, brand new in the box and has never been fired except for factory test. It's one of the older nickel plated revolvers and has the 6" barrel. I'm just curious as to what you think it's worth. I hear the python was one of the best revolvers ever made.

I believe you can get the mfg date from the S/N if you research it...

Older model, no sissy 'Hillary locks', NIB, pristine cond...If I had to guess, anywhere between 1200 and 2000??? Just a guess...

    And yes, pics please! :D

Probably not right away, he keeps his guns in storage, but I'll work on it. He also has a colt 22 revolver, can't remember the model name, in the same condition, new in the box, never fired.

Called my son, the 22 is the diamondback. I'll try to get pics of both these guns when I can.

You should make sure it's nickel finish and not bright stainless. That will affect the value also. A NIB Python will easily bring $2000 or more to the right buyer. The 22 caliber Diamondback is also very valuable.
