I really want one. I'd rather have this than a Para LDA...is that wrong?
(except for the notch where the thumb safety would go...that has to be redone)

It is not a "true" 1911a1.

No it's not. I didn't really know where to post this but it seems to be all over the Internet in association with 1911s so I did the same. It looks like something a 1911 fan would be interested in seeing. Technically the Para LDO isn't a 1911 either, but you know what I mean. I like all 1911 versions and variations.
It appears to share the slide and some features with my beloved 1911 series, and it has the same grip angle but no slide safety but still has the cutout for one which is a weird thing for a high end company to overlook on a production model. Hopefully the commercially available versions will have that glaring fault addressed. Other than that I like it. It almost looks like a 1903/1911/LDO hybrid.

A 1903 in .45 would be AWESOME by the way. Cylinder & Slide had been fooling around with that but it was really just a modified 1911. Why doesn't Colt reissue the 1903 in 9mm or .380? Someone somewhere should. I'd surely buy one.

I'm sure it's an okay pistol, it just doesn't appeal to me. However, a friend of mine has the Para version and he loves it, it's his EDC.

It looks like a 1911 with Down's syndrome.

Colt has a pretty bad track record when dealing with anything other then a standard 1911.

I just gagged. I respect your need to have one, but I'll pass. What is the appeal? California sales?

personally i wouldnt choose a frankensteined 1911. there are better designs designed from the get go to be DA. i dont understand the desire colt has to muck with the best designed firearm in history.
