A guy at work approached me to buy his Colt 1991 for $850. I don't know much about colts so I was wondering what you think? Hopefully Canebrake will chime in he also told me it was a model 70 and that he thought it should be worth around $1100? He is sending me pictures of the gun tonight and ill post them to give you a better ideal of the model and the condition.

Thanks in advance.

As many specifics like age, condition, round count, amount of care/maintenance, modifications, etc in addition to pics would be helpful. There are a lot of Colt 1911s out there.

Do some good research on the 1991.
I, also, thought that the 1991 was a series 80.

Anyways, I think $850 is a little high unless he is throwing in a dozen magazines, holster, and a couple hundred rounds of ammo.

Ya that's what I was thinking. So far the info I have on the gun it was purchased in 1994 and the round count is only about 200. He said it has sat in the safe for at least 10 years. He is at a Christmas party and pics will be posted tomorrow.
