I was reading the sprint news blurbs n my cell phone and came across a CNN story where they actually admitted a armed deputy in the building stopped the shooter from carrying on his killing. The shooter ( not surprisingly) chose to end his cowardly life and not engage the deputy. One minute twenty seconds. One innocent little girl terribly hurt but would have been tragically worse if no one was armed in the school that day. Ill try to paste the link....

The deputy was a school resource officer. He is mentioned on page 2 and page 3. So having an armed person at a school does help, contrary to what the anti 2A crowd says.

That's what surprised me,, usually the lamestream media will go to great lengths to downplay the effectiveness of guns to stop gun violence.

Its hard to cover this though.
"How was the situation bright to an end?"
    "An armed officer intervened"
    "In under two minutes?"
"Well, he was there as a resource officer..."

Im surprised obama didnt send his gestapo to try and cover this one up. This kinda proves that armed security in schools makes things safer. Lets hope that those wounded recover. I'm glade that this was contained but still is sad that people got hurt like they did.

Glad they stopped the little coward... Would be better if the responder had been an armed staff member though.

I don't know why the media covers these mass killers. The liberal media is guilty as hell. Gun owners don't make some mental case a household name. I guarantee no one knows the name of any of the shooters on the US national team, but they know the names of psychopaths who shoot kids.

I honestly was surprised that most schools didn't have armed officers on staff when i learned about this the last coulee years. I graduated in 08 from a little country town in Oregon most people have never heard of and we had a resource officer. When i was in middle school in an even smaller town the middle school had one too. Its a no brainer that its safer that way.

The high school i went didn't have an officer on grounds didnt need one the police department was literally on the other side of the base ball fields depending on which side of the school you where on you could see the building from the class room.

This actually doesn't "qualify" as a mass killing

terrible for that innocent young girl, but good that measures were in place to control the potential damage.

it won't get much, if any media attention...maybe fox news...

if schools would #1) secure their damn buildings like a bank #2) AND/OR employ a well trained armed security guard.....and you will see school shooting start to go away...

will it stop mass shooting?....not likely....but at least it won't be our freakin kids as the targets of choice.

and yes....another low life POS coward that uses mass homicide for their "15 minutes"....$%#$% coward!!! homicidal coward shooters.....plz just kill yourself and be done with it, freaking waste of oxygen!!!!

Colorado's Liberal Democrat governor did down play the armed officer. He said schools should be places of learning not armed forts. He and his 8 armed body guards then went to lunch.

The thing is the world is a dangerous place always has been most people in this country live in a fantasy world of safety and don't want to wake up to the reality that no one its truly safe in this world. So they don't take the measures they need to so what end s up happening is people get hurt and killed because they think it can't happen here but as were seen it can.

I know people think a lot of us are crazy for wanting armed gaurds in school but really it necessary. Another thing that ticks me off is the fact this guy ran torward danger and they downplay it. If he had ran away from it they would have thrown a huge fit.

I liked the part where the janitor ran out of the building with the librarian and after said he was trying to get the shooter to follow him, now I have no beef with the man saving his own life,, he had no obligation to fight, but lets call it what it is.

That's right, but you notice that the main stream media isn't exactly putting this fact out there.
