After cleaning the guns when I got home from the range today, I decided to try a little project on the Glock that I had read about last week--color fill the stamping. I re-watched the video and got to work. I'm pleased with how it turned out.

I did my 22 and 19 today. They came out great.

Something to do on a rainy day. Looks sharp I think.

    Thanks!

I found several options including crayons and grease pencil but chose to use the white nail polish method because it seems to be more durable from all the reports I found.

The biggest challenge was removing the excess without absorbing away the polish in the engraving. What I found to work best was to tap the polish over the engraved area and then wait for it to get to a thicker consistency before rubbing it into the engraving. When you remove the excess, be sure to use a nail polish remover that does not contain acetone; acetone can damage some finishes on guns.

I want to get "Don't Tread On Me!" engraved on the right side of the slide and the snake from the Gadsden Flag engraved on the top of the slide. Once that is done, I think I'll redo all this (plus the new engraving) in yellow.
