What is better cerekote or duracote
from what i have read, ceracoat is a little harder for the DIYer to do at home than duracoat. ceracoat, also needs to be cured in an oven to do it properly. duracoat is air dried.
assembly time is much quicker than duracoat, plus, it goes on thinner meaner less tolerance issues than duracoat.
in a comparison, it looks like ceracoat is more wear tolerant than duracoat, meaning it should last longer if it's applied correctly when cured properly.
a lot more people can do duracoat at home, because it's a little easier than ceracoat.
surface preperation is critical regardless of what product you decide upon.
Here's a hardness/durability chart via Cerakote's website.
I like the Cerakote, because as soon as pieces are sprayed they get baked for 2 hours. Once cooled they are ready for assembly. No waiting for air dry and curing.
