just got my savage 10 barrel and receiver apart, the threads on the chamber end and the receiver threads are very very rough. so rough it takes a bit of force to turn the receiver on the barrel.

does anyone know a way to clean the burrs and make them the same on both so the recevier screws on cleaner??

    i think savage uses 20tpi.

Outside threads (like on the barrel) can be touched up with just a simple triangle file. Just be careful and work slow.

Thanks. That link pointed me in the right direction. Ordered inside and outside threadtools. Also foundout the savage threads on my rifle are 20tpi 60degree so i ordered the correct files.
