Yeah, I know. Another stupid "help me decide" thread. Can't help it! I'm torn on which to get first. So please suk it up one more time and help me pull the trigger. :D

My local shop has some "used" models in right now and I can't decide on which to pick up today. I've narrowed it down to two Case Hardened Model P versions with the 4 3/4 barrel. One a 45LC and the other a 357. Both look brand new and were more than likely fired once then displayed. I can get either one for $325. I'm leaning toward the 357 because I believe I can shoot 38sp with it as well; and that may the less expensive route for plinking practice.

    What say you guys?!?

    I'd say the 357--Trust me, you'll shoot it a lot more :)
Yes, the 38 will fire fine---

My Cimmaron Frontier is a .357 and I shoot it a lot. .45 Colt is fine if you reload, if not it's pretty costly. Also if you ever get into CAS, .357 is the caliber most people use (except the Warthogs). $325 sounds like a good deal, I paid $500 for mine new in stainless. Post up some pics when you get it.

Thanks, gentlemen. I appreciate the info. I felt like the 357 would be a much easier option to shoot more often. Nowhere near as cheap as getting a plinker .22, but at least it's got some stopping power if its ever needed.

I'll be picking it up in a few minutes when the shop opens. I'll post up pics a little later.

Now to pick out a .22 plinker for the other side of my set. Pretty sure I'm going with a Heritage RR Bird's Head 3.5" model.

Then it'll be time to set up my own holster rig. :D

Thanks. I'm pretty happy finding it for the price. If I had more disposable $, I'd have gotten the matching set of 45LCs they had, too.

Now to get to the range this weekend!!

Now .... I am officially a moron. I made a mistake in calling the one I bought a Cimarron model P. Granted, both the 45LCs were Cimarron model Ps. Until I looked closer, I had assumed this was as well.

It's actually this: Armi San Marcos New Dakota 357

Wish I could find one in nickel! Looks like those are long gone. Not even a birds head in a case hardened finish.

Dang nice. Beat my deal all to hell. I had to pay tax; and it may look like new, but it isn't. :p ;)
