i have a question about choke tubes, i know that they need a little lube on the threads to keep them from seizing up. but is the lube special in any way or is there an alternative to buying a lube for choke tubes? could you use a little bit of anti-seize on the threads? thanks for any information.

Just use any standard gun grease, sparingly. They all work...

Slugo is right on the money! Any good gun grease will do just fine and you just want to put enough on to lightly coat the entire surfaces of the threads and inner face of the choke tube where it contacts the barrel. This will prevent rust from the heating and cooling of the barrel caused by condensation and rust the threads and barrel surface.

Anti-seize is best, but it's messy if you change chokes often.
Grease is nearly as good and oil is better than nothing.
