Forgive them, they know not what they do to what was once a decent gun...

The gas mask really tops it off.

I like everything except the vertical grip. It's a nice mid range gun with plenty of knock down. If I bought one it'd be the wood stocked "rifle" though just for history sake. :)

It is a new semi auto copy of an M14. Where is the history in that? It is not like he committed sacrilege on a Garand. I may not agree with his choices but it is his gun and he can do what he wants. I thought he had shown restraint. I have seen pictures posted on this forum where it is hard to find the gun there is so much junk on it..

Like I said I like the way he set it up for a handy mid range gun(ranch rifle comes to mind) but if I'm spending the money for a M14 it means more to me to shoot it the way it was originally set up. Not bashing his gun at all. I already have AR's for carbines so the tacticool factor is covered. :)

Had an opportunity to shoot a friend's. It's very nice. But I couldn't help but think there's a lot of wasted energy coming out of that barrel. When he was shooting, I was standing behind him. Every time he pulled the trigger, a pressure wave would hit me in the chest.

My thoughts exactly. Pure steely-eyed death without the gizmos.

Every rifle that has come out in the last 50..60 years is a compromise of some sort. Shorter, smaller cartridge, smaller caliber, the list goes on and on. Each has pros and cons. I bet this one is LOUD!

And somewhere from the depths of history comes a cry, a man holding a 1911, crying out 'sacrilege, what have they done with the revolver?!'

nice shooter!! ran into a guy shooting one of those super short 308 and boy are those things brutally loud!! good candidate for a suppressor.

dont let folks bother ya about your gun choices you should see the hate i get at the range when i take out my cva wolf muzzle loader... they cant understand why i like the inline short barrel plastic stock. damn thing is super light easy to use and clean. but i get a ton of flack for it

Oh no, and now a souless in-line blackpowder gun that probably looks about the same. Probably has a vertical grip. Bet you guys have color TV's too!

I have a headache now and need to go back to bed...

And before that, "a self contained metallic cartridge? That will never catch on!"
