Okay guys I am looking at purchasing a S&W M&P22 and Colt LE6920 Socom. However, before I pay that kind of money I want to make sure that I can change the safety from right hand to left hand on both guns. Could you please confirm that this is possible, thanks!

You cannot simply reverse the selector. You would need to get a ambi selector if you want one on the left side.

Yup, ambi selector is needed and is an easy swap. They usually between $30 and $80.

  5. Colt has a reversible safety but they haven't been making it very long, maybe since about ... 2006 or so.
Here's a photograph of one, you'll note the 'tracks' for the pin on both sides.

For comparison, here's a non-reversible, ambidextrous safety, you'll note the 'track' is only on the left side.
