Can someone tell me anything about Century Arms? Would you recommend this brand? I'm new to rifles and looking to buy one.

As stated above, what are you looking at? Century is a solid company/ importer.

Some folks don't like them, but every gun I've ever shot/owned from them has been tight, consistent and reliable. Give them a shot.

There are a few members w/ Wasr10's here. I have a Wasr2 that is 100% reliable and accurate.

How much did you pay for yours? What is the general price range
    for them?

A buddy of mine picked up a WASR10 imported/modified by Century last year. It has been very reliable for him. I fed it a few boxes of rounds too & found it fun to shoot & reasonably accurate for plinking purposes. I have heard some people say to avoid using poly mags with the WASR10's, but his loves the poly mags. I can't say for sure how much he paid, but it was AROUND $500 at a gun show. I say around, because he said it was comparable to what i paid for my XD45.

He did change out the wood furniture for some plastic furniture with mounting rails & an extendable buttstock.

edit * My buddy did make the mistake of ordering the tapco buttstock for a "milled receiver". I tried briefly to explain, but some people don't listen well. He did get it to fit, after some serious filing. He later replaced it with the MUCH better fitting "stamped receiver" model. Yes, I LOL'd.

I've had mine for 4 years, $269.00. They are in the $450.00+ range now.
One of the great parts about the Wasr2 is it is chambered for 5.45x39 which is about $145.00 per 1080 round can or $245 for a 2160 round case. I still have cans that I paid $108.00 for, cases were $205.00. Copes does flat rate shipping at times. $7.95 no matter, 1 can or 10 cases. The Wasr2 is also chrome lined.

Every Romanian AK I have ever seen has had a chrome lined barrel. Not saying they don't exist with out. All modern Romanian AKs are very similar.

WASR's are imported as 10 shot single stacks. Many are modified once here to accept AK hi-caps. The modification is pretty easy. Once modified, they fall under Federal section 922R and will require some parts get changed out so that no more than 10 parts are imported.

Century is known to employ lower primates (monkeys) to assemble their firearms. This rep primarily comes from the CETMEs they butchered in years past. AK's are hard to screw up too badly. Hell, they make them in huts in Pakistan, how hard can it be?

And that's one more reason they are so beautiful. They can resist even the most powerful of stupidity!
