This won't hit the news. I found the information in my facebook feed from the Franklin county sheriffs department.

Franklin County Sheriff's Office of North Carolina
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

It also bears noting that the attempted armed robbery at Floyd's Grocery was unsuccessful. There happened to be one customer in the store when the suspect entered, brandished a log barrel weapon, and demanded money from the clerk. The customer was a Concealed Carry Permit Holder. The customer pulled out his pistol at which time the suspect fled the scene. No shots were fired by the citizen or the suspect.

The complete sheriffs write up is posted on the sheriffs department's facebook page.
