Ok guys tomorrow is my first dental appointment since I've had my ccl I will be getting laughing gas due to the fact that I can not stand having cavities drilled without it. My question is due I keep my gun on me? Leave it in the car? Obviously if something where to happen if I'm on laughing gas I probably Wong do much good anyway. What do y'all do in this situation?

Leave it in the car. You will be under the influence of the gas until after the procedure is over with.

Leave it home, you'll probably need a ride home anyways........

Thanks for the quick response guys I didn't thinking about getting a ride but I don't think I can get one on such short notice I know my dentist gives a straight supply of oxygen through the mask for 15 mins after the procedure to grt the gas outta my system I will lock it in my glove box.

Leave it in the car. The affects of laughing gas wear off almost immediately upon breathing room air. It's an inhaled medication and is cleared as soon as you start breathing regular air again. You won't need a ride home. It's like when you breath in helium, your voice is only high pitched until the helium is out of your system.

"There’s no “hangover” effect – the gas is eliminated from the body within 3 to 5 minutes after the gas supply is stopped. You can safely drive home and don’t need an escort."

Take it with you. Inform the dentist that you have it and are expecting NO pain from the drilling. :D

    I've never been gassed.

i require an extraordinary amount of Novocaine which makes me very irritable. Wife has learned to give me lots of space after having any dental work done.

You will be under the influence. Thus making it illegal for you to possess a firearm. Big nono

My dentist is a retired military doctor and a gun nut. I always carry when I go in for my appointments...teeth cleaned every 6 months. After my checkup, he and I talk guns.

I absolutely HATE nitrous. Makes me puke. Leave the gun in the car.

I use nitrous whenever I have more than a cleaning done. I am a nervous patient. I wish I could have a tank here at home. LOL

i go for the nitrous anytime i have dental work done. it has a calming effect on me.

Windsis correct about the nitrous. once it's removed within a few minutes the effects of it are gone. i have driven myself home after having wisdom teeth removed. now once home and the novacaine wore off and i had to start taking the pain pills, i had a hard time even walking!

Severely biassed answer (to be ignored) ask your dentist, they know all the answers.

Sorry ignore me. I am trying to ignore my native American steriotype of being a savage.

I have been carrying 100% of the time since I have had a permit. When I go anywhere like that I never remove my gun or tell anyone that I have one on me. Mine is concealed good and doesn't print. I got it to carry and that is what I do.
