So today... I went to aimsurplus and saw they only had 2 more yugo underfolders. I know, I just bought my WASR 10, but I couldn't not get this for 489 after shooting the WASR today. For now on I am done tho, no more guns! :D

No, I've been waiting on an AR because I'm still not sure what I want. Also, I won't have the money for an AR (my range is 1,200-1,400) until after christmas time and all that. I do plan on getting one, just really want to get the right one for me ya know?

Buy the AR, I think it might fix your problem.

I hear you. I will get one at some point. I like ar's a lot, an m-4 style colt was the first assault rifle I've ever shot. I actually was not into ak that much until I got one. After that, I might actually like shooting the ak more. Either way, can never have enough of either lol.

Really? Didn't fix me. . . Now I keep wanting more AKs and ARs.

To many of us that have been shooting our Dad's, older brother's and other relative's AKs for next to nothing Before the ban years (and therefore during ;)) the AK is a major part (if not the center) of our collections. It is not a matter of which one is better. Most of us know the pros and cons of both weapons and choose to own and shoot both.

I've been eying those Yugo's and want one as well, It'll have to wait a few weeks though. . . :(

Good one, spittinfire!!! Once you get the BRD you can't afford any other guns! :p

I was able to buy one AK and keep it at that. And one SKS. Doesn't work for ARs though...

My first AK was a Yugo M70ab2, then I got a WASR 3, then 2 Romy G's, then an Arsenal 106fr and an SGL 20. After that a SAR 3. I'm now waiting for an Arsenal 106ur to arrive at my FFL. I don't think that I'll ever shake it. :D

First off the M1A is not even on the same planet as an AK, not even CLOSE to comparable! That's like having a debate among friends deciding where to order pizza and beer and throwing into the conversation the notion of having Chicken Alfredo and White wine. . .

No offense, but I seriously doubt you own many AKs. In the slight chance that you do own more that one AK (less than 2 AKs in the safe disqualifies you from further dialog note the title of the thread)

It is very obvious when a member have not shot them enough to get to know them. The AK has a purpose and A DAMN GOOD ONE!!! I can pump about 75% of a 75 round drum in a 24" x 36" chunk of cardboard as fast as I can pull the trigger.

I have controlled my AK passion with the introduction of the AR. In order for this to be effective, the ARs must be built (assembled) by me and also, at least, slightly out of the ordinary.

TO THE OP: If you believe you are approaching the point where your collection could use some versatility away from the Kalashnikov direction, there are many outlets that you will have almost as much fun with! :)

the ak is a well built gun, i have shot, built and sold many. the round is what i find to be inferior.

i have a right to MY opinion, just as you do, eh?

I got one of those M70's. Damn fun rifle to shoot. For the money it's hard to beat them. Some of the AK snobs wont like it but it's not their rifle so they can just go back to their custom built uber AK with secret ingredient X that makes a it run faster and jump higher. The AK was not designed to be the most accurate. But they can sure pump the ammo and it gets pretty dang close to where it needs to be anyway.

Sure the round is not the best out there but it has it's place. For what you can get a bunch of that commie ammo for it's just hard to beat the fun vs. cost. Now you need a D or M model SKS that uses the same mags and you are in the good time fun place. :D

Amen partener! So is it your opinion that the AK-47 is close enough in build, ammo, accuracy, firepower and/or intended battle purpose/use to cxompare it (The AK-47) to the M1a??? A fine gun I might add.

comparing an ak to an m1a is like comparing a ford escort to a rolls royce.
