    You tell us...

    http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/ohio.pdf

Getting legal advice on the interwebz is not a great idea..(although my link is valid)...

Find out the laws yourself before you find yourself in hot water, don't trust what anonymous forum posters tell you...

Stop by the intro thread and say hey when you get a chance...

What school are you going to..Edison...? I have a couple co-workers who went there..And i know that area fairly well...I grew up about 5 miles South of Troy. Open carry is no problem in Ohio..You will see people OC walking their dog, or at the grocery store, etc But not in a vehicle...(let me know if you cant find the rules on that) Fairly simple. RG and i open carry quite often, but we also have our CCW, the rules are different.

federal law is 21 to buy from an FFL holder. but in some states you can legally own and possess one at 18 and some states you can buy one from a private party at 18.

One good thing...You will be 15min from 2 very nice indoor/outdoor ranges. 2 good places for trap shooting in that area that i know of. Good fishing on the Great Miami River, that runs right thru Troy.

    This is true.

I am thinking this is true also. From the first website that was linked at the beginning of this thread:

"Open Carry is legal but you must have a valid permit/license to carry to carry a handgun in a vehicle. Places
as listed in the “Places Off Limits” above apply to those who open carry. When open carrying, be prepared
for Police Officers to question you as open carrying firearm gets their attention. See the “RV/Car Carry
Without a Permit” section for carrying in a vehicle."

But it doesn't address non-residents or 18 year olds. Will do some more research later.
