I ALREADY HAVE! Look at the range reports section and look at my Glock targets. Then, take a look at my first time with a 1911. Speaks for itself:D

Uh. I don't know where you got the idea that I still have any weapons, Infidel, but coming at me with that tone of voice would have NEVER gotten the response you desire.....

As I have stated, I lost all my weapons on a fishing trip in the ocean over the Marianas Trench with Skullcrusher when the stupid boat went down...

    Here's a tip - Don't book with Orvitz dot com....

I actually rarely just go to the range and target shoot with any of my 1911s. I spend most of the trigger time with mine practicing fast acquisition shooting - basically getting ready for pin matches. My goal for this type of shooting is to keep everything in about a 4 inch circle at 7 yards firing quickly and from a low ready position. Sorry to say my targets wouldn't impress anyone...

I concentrate on quickly acquiring targets and delivering lead with combat accuracy, rather than target shooting with the intent of printing perfect groups. If I can split 2 7 round magazines between 5 targets and have all 14 rounds land center mass, I call it a good session.

My Compact II works well for that. Recoil is controllable and rounds are delivered as accurately as one can when concentrating solely on quickly dropping a bad guy like a bad habit.

The front sight falls back into the same place every time and is in the same place every time I draw.

I've run many different brands of ball ammo with ne'er a hiccup. The same goes for hollow point ammo, including large cavity, defense HP rounds. I ran a full box of Hydrashocks through it before deciding to use them as my defense ammo of choice. At one point in time, I also ran 100 rounds of lead semi-wadcutters though it without a single misfeed.

There's a range report for you.

I will be going this weekend and will be sure to get pictures. I will compare examples from P345 and 1911. Should be a Hoot.

I still owe a full range report for the Kimber tactical custom I picked up over the summer.

To be honest I've grown weary of playing find the damn ammo every time I want to shoot more than the few rounds (to keep some assemblance of a practice routine :) ).

As a less than a year disciple of the 1911 I will say that I have never held a pistol that feels so natural in hand and points so naturally. I can't speak for all clones but I can say that NOTHING (pistol wise) I have ever shot, compares to the smooth action, crisp trigger and overall sexiness of my Nighthawk. I can't even shoot my beautiful Sig anymore as it feels like I'm holding a gas pump in comparison.

I don't have the same issue with my XD if that says anything about the ergonomics of that pistol. I enjoy shooting it and and have nothing but good things to say about it.

Okay, so I got a couple of PM's....

You guys want to see a target??

Here is a target I shot at 25 Feet, at an indoor range, after an hour or so of shooting on the first day I got my Nighthawk T-3. This pistol has a 4.25" barrel on a full size frame.

This target shows the small Shoot-N-See target that I placed and where the rounds impacted. A little low and a little left. Not too bad considering this was my first day with the pistol.

This is 7+1 rounds of factory ammo.

No range reports, but have to say I didn't start out to be a 1911 fanboy. But after hefting one and noting how well the grip fit my small hands. That the weight of an all steel 1911 is not an ecumbrance if you don't have to lug it around all day....and may be a bit of ease for the mind if that weight was there if you did carry it....and that it helps tame recoil. That the trigger is better than anything else that I have tried. That right out of the box, I shot the 1911 platform better than the other guns I have had to hand, well, what's not to like in a customizable handgun that can be what you want it to be and need it to be. Don't own many, but I do own four now: SA Fully Loaded, Kimber TLE, DW Bovtail, and a Les Baer TRS. All shoot well and are accurate.
